Amazing Women Changing the World

October 10th, 2008

I has been a bit since I last posted..but in the past months I have met some amazing women from all over the world. I met Jackie from Ireland who is a well known celebrity stylist over there….yet her greatest love is her son and being his mom…..No celebrity client can beat that…… I met Aisha from Saudi Arabia who is empowering over 500 women in a leadership academy in Saudi. I met April from Nashville who lost over 100 lbs and is changing her life so she can be a healthier mom….. This summer was filled with exciting people from all over the world, and I realized that we all have the the same dreams and hopes and challenges. We all need to live our life at our highest level……Do not shirk your life for another, or for the feeling of lack within your self……Let your highest light shine…as you may be the inspiration for your own life, as well as others who see your light.

Charley Jenkins on Nashville Star

June 11th, 2008

This is a personal post for me. “Charley Jenkins” is a good buddy of mine who was booted off the TV show “Nashville Star”
“Charley Jenkins” is truly a star. He is an amazing entertainer and vocalist. People have always compared him to “Garth Brooks”. Hey, being compared to one of the top selling artists of all time….I’d be happy about that. Anyway, “Nashville Star” unfairly booted Charley last night, and we his fans are working a campaign to “BRING BACK CHARLEY” So if you are a follower of my blogs..please do me a favor and go to the “Nashville Star” website and let the “Nashville Star” producers know.
WE WANT CHARLEY BACK….!!! Thanks for your kindness…..Michelle

Celebrate your uniqueness

June 9th, 2008

It is the space between the music, the silence between the notes that makes the uniqueness of the song.

What makes you unique? No one is just like you…. Celebrate your uniqueness!!!!!!

Loving yourself at any weight

December 3rd, 2007

Even though I am successful and spend my life coaching and speaking to others on how to have success in their life, the one thing I have never conquered is my weight. I gained over 100 lbs while taking care of my mother when she was terminally ill. No matter what I tried, I was never able to release the weight. It has, however, never stopped me from anything I have wanted to do. I speak in front of 1000’s and have been on TV etc. O.K. OK. So it has stopped me from roller-blading in a bikini…but it really just is I have no balance. In the past few months, I finally figured out what held my weight on my body. I would feel privileged to share my thought with you - the top 3 things that have assisted me in releasing my weight are: 1) We need to explore what benefit does our weight serve? Does it disguise loneliness, lack of nurturance, a trauma from the past? For me, it was the loss of so many family and friends. As I accessed my past, I realized that with each loss I gained weight, and somehow in my mind, if I lost weight…I lost them. Since I have figured out how my weight has served me…I have been able to release it (I am currently down 37 lbs); 2) We need to take 100% responsibility for our life. Each moment you make a decision…make the best decision you are capable of making at that moment. I have no one to blame but myself for what I eat. I have to accept full responsibility for allowing my body to be in its current state. If you say to yourself “diet,” the human mind will resist…. it will feel lack…. Tell yourself you can have anything you want…then, when making the choice of what to eat, make the very best choice possible. If our mind perceives we have to suffer, or we have to restrict, or deprive, it will fight us. We already feel lack or loss…that is why many diets fail. A person of weight is in a state of lack for something, someone… Change your mind set in baby steps. If you are used to eating a quarter-pound hamburger and large fries…order a small fry and a smaller hamburger…till you can make a better choice. Tell yourself - This is your desire…your choice. Over time…your choice will get better… Your own mind will start to feel empowered to make better and better choices. These small changes will start to build your self-esteem… You will see wins, instead of loses; 3) Love yourself right where you are now. I am very; very fortunate…my self-esteem is not based on the scale… I have been larger and smaller, and my confidence and self-esteem is the same at either weight… Do I feel sassier as a smaller size…..YES! Do I love myself anymore, or less…NO!!!!!! You are a beautiful child of God…you have intelligence, a sense of humor, a loving nature, and many qualities that are the essence of you. Celebrate the essences of you… NO ONE can make you feel bad about yourself unless you give them your power… DO NOT give them your power. Look, at Oprah….Do you love her any less if she gains or loses weight….NO…Do you think she is less intelligent thinner or heavier…NO….Do you think her heart gets smaller with her waistline…NOT A CHANCE… So why are you less then? Because your waistline may be more then… LOVE YOURSELF for all you are inside…Do me a favor…Write a list of your top ten qualities…Your internal qualities. Who are you? After you write your top 10 qualities I want you to list your top 5 strengths. I want you to ask at least 5 other people what they think are your best qualities. I want you to concentrate on the positive things about you. I want you to love yourself, and realize that you have amazing qualities…and amazing new possibilities will open to you, as you release yourself from your prison of weight… As I read through these posts….I thought what wonderful women were writing…I wonder what kind of friend she is? I wonder what she has done to help another? I wonder how her great sense of humor will lift someone today? My dear Sisters…Love yourself… Accept yourself… Do not give anyone your power, or your essence… You shine… Praise yourself for the great things about you, and yourself.

Your esteem will turn around, and you will have the power to be the best you…at any size.

“Entertainment Tonight” Fat Experiment with “Deal or no deal” models

November 9th, 2007

I am an avid watcher of the television show “Entertainment Tonight”. It is fun to see a few clients here and there that I have worked with in the show biz news. While watching this week I was literally awestruck standing in front of the television simply unable to move from shock. There were 2 beautiful “Deal or no deal” models dressing up in 200 lb fat suits. I was astounded by the shallow comments from the young ladies doing the so called “Entertainment Tonight” experiment. I spend every day coaching and speaking to women who do not feel good about themselves. Trust me, the last thing any woman wants to see is a beautiful, thin model complaining how awful it must be to be fat and unattractive. 90% of women who are unhappy with themselves are unhappy because of body image. Women who feel fat ,and have low self esteem being 5, 20 50 200 lbs overweight do not need size 2 models crying, telling them how awful it must be to live like this. Did you ever think “Entertainment Tonight” that there are women at home watching your show who have just had a baby and are not feeling great about themselves, or women who are already greatly depressed about their weight? Did you ever wonder if you caused even just one women great pain from your “experiment”, let alone millions? I spend my life coaching, and speaking to women to empower them, and help them feel great about themselves, at any size. How cruel can “Entertainment Tonight “ be, calling this an experiment!!!……..Having “size 2 ,“Deal or no deal” models cry because they can’t take one more minute in this overweight body….asking “How does anyone live like this? “ or “I am so glad I am beautiful, and thin, because I would not want to live like this” On behalf of the 60 % of women who are overweight in this country….thanks for letting us know that since we are not size 2, beautiful “Deal or no deal” models…..we according to “your experiment” spend our lives being ridiculed and snickered at…..Well, “Entertainment tonight” How do you feel being the biggest bully on the playground……?

Do we really become like our Mothers?

September 9th, 2007

If my mother was alive today we would celebrate her 91st birthday. You say…Oh Michelle you look so young….:) How could your mother be in her nineties.!!! I was born later in her life…..much later than should be possible …..but I still like to think I am a spring chicken. If you know my story, you know my mother was a very manipulative person, and that I fell into her trap quite often. Since it is her birthday, I thought I would write the great things about my mom. My mom was very, very smart woman. She was an avid reader, she did a crossword puzzle a day. My mother finished her GED and started college in her late 50’s. My mother was funny, really funny. She had a great sense of humor. My mom was a great artist. My dad would joke how he could never get her to paint a wall in the house.. My mom’s art was showcased in art shows, libraries..you name it. I cannot even draw a stick figure. My mom liked to have fun….and she was the often the life of the party. My mother loved chocolate brownies, Fannie May candy and blue cheese salad dressing. I unfortunately have inherited those desires as well . My mom was not really the nurturing type…but she had great long nails, and to keep you quiet she would softly tickle your back. I loved that. I often would fake being upset..just to have her caress my shoulders with her long nails…… My mom had her weaknesses, and I have tried to blame her for many things in my life…The truth is we each have 100% accountability for our own lives. So, I have forgiven my mother, and I have chosen to remember the good things about her……. I miss her famous spaghetti, her hard as a rock fudge and those shoulder tickles…..but most of all I miss her. So Happy Birthday Mom…….and Thank You……..
